Here are the substitutions I made because I didn't have all the ingredients: 1) used lard instead of vegetable shortening 2) instead of molasses, I used raw honey 3) instead of buttermilk, I put 1T of Bragg's vinegar into 1 c. of milk and let it sit 10 minutes 4) didn't have ginger so used extra cinnamon and nutmeg 5) used butter instead of cooking spray 6) used thick raw farm cream beaten with sugar for the topping YUM!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
